Our Story

Keri Naturals began as a story of resilience and hope. Immaculate Akello, one of our founding members and a skilled product formulator, battled eczema from a young age. Conventional treatments offered little relief, but her discovery of the healing properties of shea butter changed everything. With consistent use, shea butter soothed her skin and inspired her to harness its potential to help others. This personal journey of healing coincided with a much larger issue in northern Uganda, where poverty and deforestation were devastating communities. Rural women, who are the custodians of shea trees, struggled to generate sustainable income. Additionally, the unchecked felling of shea trees for charcoal and firewood threatened this precious natural resource. These challenges inspired Keri Naturals to take action. We partnered with over 1,500 rural women to source shea nuts ethically, ensuring they earn fair wages while preserving this vital tree. By providing training and resources, we empower these women economically and promote sustainable practices. Beyond sourcing, we have committed to planting 20,000 shea trees in local communities to restore degraded landscapes and secure the future of this invaluable resource. Today, Keri Naturals represents more than skincare; it symbolizes hope, sustainability, and empowerment. From creating natural products that heal and nurture to restoring the environment and improving livelihoods, our journey is a testament to the power of community and nature. Together with our partners and customers, we’re building a future where the richness of northern Uganda’s heritage benefits generations to come.
